Frequently asked questions

Why do I need Mind-Matters?

A bit of stress and anxiety is part of life, but sometimes we could all do with support to keep it in check, either in the form of a friendly ear when we’re feeling low or some expert advice on an issue that is causing sleepless nights. Mind-Matters is designed to help maintain mental wellbeing every day and build resilience - that is the ability to bounce back from difficult or stressful situations. The combination of emotional and practical support and our ability to signpost plan members to the best, most appropriate support for their needs, means that Mind-Matters is a great place to start when you need help, no matter what the problem might be.

What does Mind-Matters include?

  • Our online assessment tool, the Resilience Checker. Designed by doctors, the Resilience Checker can be used regularly to check in on your own mental wellbeing and resilience, so that you can get support for potential issues as soon as possible, before they become a crisis.
  • Our Resilience Support Line provides emotional and practical care with fully qualified counsellors as well as specialist advisers to help with issues such as legal matters or financial concerns.
  • Our Resilience Boosters, referred via the Resilience Support Line, are designed to help you get back to your best, including an online CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) course, library of mental wellbeing resources and (for those on the Resolve plan) up to six pre-bookable telephone counselling sessions with a named counsellor. You will be given access to these services by a counsellor on our Resilience Support Line, if appropriate for your situation.
  • On top of this, Mind-Matters plan members can book local, in-person therapy sessions with a 25% discount for the first session.

Who can use Mind-Matters?

If you are a UK citizen or a UK domicile, permanently living in the UK (excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish islands and the Isle of Man) for 6 or more months of every year, and you are aged between 18 and 70 you are eligible to purchase a plan. The plan will automatically cease the month after your 70th birthday. Once membership has been purchased, a member can complete the Resilience Checker and / or call the Resilience Support Line on behalf of a family member, friend or colleague if required, including children.

How long do I sign up for?

Your plan will be billed on a monthly basis for as long as you require with no minimum term. You can cancel any time with no penalty.

Is Mind-Matters fully confidential and anonymous

Yes, the information you share with either the Resilience Checker or the Resilience Support Line is fully confidential. When calling the Resilience Support Line, you will be asked to give your name and contact details which will be held confidentially just in case you get cut off. If your call is about counselling issues, you may be asked some standard risk questions for your own safety. Any personal information you provide to your counsellor is confidential and between you and the counsellor. Counsellors will only intervene – and, if necessary, break confidentiality - if you or someone else is in danger of being harmed by your, or someone else’s actions.

What type of issues can I call the Resilience Support Line about?

Any issues you like. In particular, anything that might be affecting your work or personal life, such as work/personal relationships, stress and work concerns. This might include:

  • Legal matters such as consumer rights, property, landlord/tenant, family and motoring law
  • Money matters, including managing creditors, budgeting and debt management plans
  • Health and wellbeing information on lifestyle issues such as diet, exercise, sleep, health and medical concern

Are there any issues that are unsuitable for Mind-Matters?

Mind-Matters is designed to help you identify when you might need more support with your mental wellbeing and provide generalist support in the form of counselling and online CBT therapy. Therefore there are some issues and situations which are not well-suited for Mind-Matters e.g:

  • Long-term or serious mental health issues will require longer-term more in-depth therapy e.g. Family therapy, gender issues, abuse, addiction such as gambling / alcohol / drugs
  • More complex issues e.g. complex bereavement / loss, court cases, psychological or physical injuries, trauma (recent or previous)
  • Individuals already receiving counselling / psychological support from another practitioner.

That said, Mind-Matters is a good place to start if you need help as our online assessment tool and counsellors will be able to help you navigate to find the best support for you, even if that is external to the Mind-Matters service.

How often can I use this service and will it affect the price I pay?

You can contact the service whenever you need ad-hoc counselling support or information to help with a legal, money, debt or health and wellbeing issue. If you have the Resolve plan, you will also be able to access one set of 6 structured telephone counselling sessions per plan year – referred via a counsellor on the Resilience Support Line, if this would be beneficial for you.

The amount you use the service will have no impact on the price you pay, except for pay-as-you-go services.

Mind-Matters from Lime, supporting you to be the best you can be, every day.
